Bear Rawls
Some dogs do more than become part of a family. They become part of a neighborhood, part of a daily rhythm, and part of every heart lucky enough to know them.
This memorial is shared from Bear’s mom in loving remembrance of a dog who was rescued, healed, cherished, and deeply missed.
Our Bear
Loved for seven wonderful years, remembered for a lifetime.
From Bear’s Mom
Our Bear
I saw him at the shelter while dropping off donations. he had been there two months already. His previous owners decided he wasn't worth the $75 fee to get him back. After taking him for a walk we realized there were some hip problems and maybe that's why he was still there. I don't know what it was about him but we had to have him. We adopted him, fixed his hip and he was as good as new. We had him 7 years. he was worth every penny we spent on him.
“I don't know what it was about him but we had to have him.”
We miss his loud snoring every night. The way he would lay in a door way, then roll onto his back while we tried to get through the door. This was so he could have his chest scratched or belly rubbed. Every time he was happy, he would show it by diving face first into the carpet, roll onto his back, all four legs up in the air and wiggle around. Bear made friends with everyone he met. whenever he had the chance he would visit the neighbors and they always had treats ready. Our whole block new him by name. I don't know why his first family didn't want him back. I do know they missed out on a fantastic companion, and faithful pet.
Peggy,
Worth Every Penny
Bear was adopted, healed, and loved for seven years. His family knew exactly what he was worth.
Loud Snoring
The little sounds and habits are often what families miss most — the snoring, the doorway naps, and the familiar presence.
Pure Joy
Bear showed happiness with his whole body — face first into the carpet, belly up, legs in the air, wiggling with joy.
Bear’s Daycare Memories
These photos capture Bear the way so many people remember him — relaxed, happy, surrounded by friends, and deeply loved both at daycare and at home.
Happy With Friends
Bear had the kind of face people remembered — happy, gentle, and surrounded by daycare friends.

Remembered Always
Part of the Pack
Bear was one of those dogs who made the daycare feel fuller, softer, and more joyful simply by being part of it.
Forever Loved
Quiet Comfort
Bear’s memories were not only made at daycare. He was also a beloved presence at home — resting close, taking up space in the best way, and making ordinary moments feel full.
Home MemoriesForever Remembered
Bear was not forgotten at the shelter. He was found, chosen, healed, and loved. His first family may have missed out, but his forever family knew the gift they had.
Run free, sweet Bear.
