Dual Adjustable Grooming Arm

Dual Adjustable Grooming Arm

I would not consider this to be a telescoping grooming arm as those (covered later) are slightly different though this type aims to solve the same problem. One of the minor inconveniences when using the Standard 90 Degree One Adjustment Grooming Arm (covered above) is adjusting the height under load.  If you have a somewhat tall dog on the table, a slightly heavy dog or a dog that likes to sit, with the Standard 90 Degree One Adjustment Grooming Arm making height adjustments on the fly can be annoying as the weight of the dog tends to pull down and over on the arm making it bind at the base. Additionally with the Standard 90 Degree arm when lowered the bar will protrude upwards of a foot from the bottom of the base making an excellent catch point for cords or for the groomers to bump their knees on. The Dual Adjustable arm aims to solve that problem. Now instead of having to reach down and adjust the entire arm from the base, you can just adjust the upwards (horizontal) portion to make minor adjustments. It is also slightly easier than having to reach down and around the grooming table to lower the entire bar which typically required two hands, one to hold the bar so it did not slide all the way down and smack into the table or the dogs head when released and one to loosen the tension knob. With this type, since you don’t have then entire weight of the arm to deal with only the horizontal portion most groomers can typically make the height adjustment with one hand.

While I have plenty of experience with this type it is not my favorite as just like the standard 90 degree arm it is always there regardless of what you are doing. In theory you could remove the horizontal and set it to the side if you need to get boisterous with a dog by putting it on its side or if multiple staff members needed to help out, but that is somewhat cumbersome and a step that can be avoided by just using a folding grooming arm (covered later). 2017 prices, $40.00-$89.00
