Toxin: lithium, nickel metal hydride, cadmium, mercury and corrosives
Symptoms: Irritation of the throat, mouth and esophagus, stomach pain, seizures, excessive drooling, lack of coordination, rapid death.
Additional Information: Alkalis are corrosives that cause tremendous damage to tissues, as they continue to destroy tissue until neutralized, NiCad batteries contain cadmium, which could lead to the development of gastrointestinal irritation, and in cases where a large ingestion has occurred, neurological effects may also be possible.
First Aid: Do not induce vomiting, Seek veterinary attention.
